Novi, MI (June 27, 2008) - The MSYSA State Cup is the first level of competition in the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series. Teams who win the State Cup will earn the right to represent Michigan at regional and potentially national competitions in the summer of 2009.

In the State Cup, each team will play three self-scheduled games. Teams who do well will advance to the Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and then eventually the Finals.

This year, the U14-U18 girls teams will play their State Cup games in the fall, meanwhile the U13 girls team will play in the spring with the boys teams. All MSYSA affiliated girls teams who meet eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply. While not all teams will be accepted, those who do will have the opportunity to partake in some of the best competition in Michigan!

The 2009 Girls State Cup Quarterfinals & Semifinals will be held on October 4-5th, and the Finals will be held on October 18th. The deadline to submit a State Cup application is 4:30PM on July 16, 2008. All interested teams must submit their application and payment by this deadline.

To submit the online application, visit the MSYSA website at www.michiganyouthsoccer.org.
