Kalamazoo crush Windsor, 12-0

Kalamazoo, MI (July 20, 2008) - The Kalamazoo Outrage PDL side finished their 2008 home campaign in style on Sunday afternoon defeating Canadian professional outfit the Windsor Border Stars 12-0.

The match played in scorching condItions at Mayors Riverfront Stadium in downtown Kalamazoo gave the play-off bound Outrage the opportunity to experiment with some line ups before Tuesday's Central Conference play off game against the Chicago Fire Premier. In fact the Outrage used 24 players throughout the course of the game with the bulk of signed players playing 45 minutes each.

Winger Marco Stencel took just 2 minutes to get the ball rolling with the Outrage's first goal and Tom Warmer twice and Stu Riddle added goals for the home time to give the Outrage a convincing 4-0 half time lead.

The floodgates opened in the second half with Riddle adding 3 more of his own, Terry Alvino scored twice and Tom Oatley, Lance Muckey and David Reed completed the rout.

Outrage head coach Riddle was happy with his side's overall performance "Today we played a professional side and won by 12 goals, that is something that doesn't happen very often in your career. I felt on the whole there was some very good performances but a couple of guys failed to take the opportunity presented to them today"

Now faced with refocusing his team for what is expected to be a close match up on Tuesday Riddle said he was proud of his team's accomplishments to date "We have made the play offs in our inaugural season which is a great achievement but I don't want the players to sit back and accept that as the final point. We are playing a good side and will need to be at our best to beat them. Hopefully some players got some good confidence from todays match".

The match with the Chicago Fire Premier will kick off at 4pm Central Standard Time and will be played at Chicago's Toyota Park. The winner of the match will move onto the the final four of the Central Conference play-offs next weekend.
